“Sports play a very important role in our life. It develops us in all prospects of life. The student should participate in sports and it should be a part of every institute’s activity ” said Dr. VK Rattan Vice Chancellor of the University, while he inaugurated the Inter-Faculty Badminton tournament on National Sports Day. In his words, Dr. Hemant Sharma Pro Vice Chancellor remembered hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand Singh and said we should learn from his sports carrier.

An inter-faculty badminton tournament was conducted by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports to celebrate National Sports Day on 29th August, under the guidance of Dr. Parm Preet HoD, Department of Physical Education and Sports.

In the male section Harmit Singh of GBS secured the first position, Kartik of FEDA-D secured second and Sarath Kumar of FEDA-E secured the third position and in the female category Ravleen Kaur, FEDA-D secured 1st position, Jasleen Kaur of GBS Secured 2nd and Madhu Sharma of FPES clinched second and third positions.

At the closing of the event registrar of GNA University, DR. Raj Kumar Mahajan encouraged the students to participate in such types of tournaments and distributed the prizes to the winners.
