GNA Business School at GNA University organized One Week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Data Analysis using SPSS and AMOS” from June 24, 2024 to June 29, 2024 for the faculty members and research scholars in order to acquaint them with the theoretical understanding and hands-on training of various statistical procedures using SPSS and AMOS software for hypothesis testing. The FDP was delivered by renowned resource persons i.e. Dr. Suresh Kumar Sharma, Professor, Department of Statistics, Panjab University; Dr. Gurjeet Kaur, Professor, Department of Commerce, University of Jammu; Dr. Rishi Raj Sharma, Professor, Department of Business Administration, Guru Nanak Dev University RC, Gurdaspur and Dr. Amanpreet Singh, Senior Research Fellow, Punjab Agriculture University; and was attended by participants from across the region who exhaustively learnt the methodology and procedures comprehensively for using the software(s). The FDP was inaugurated with a warm welcoming of the knowledgeable resource person(s) by Dr. Sameer Varma, Dean- GNA Business School and the faculty members of GBS.

The resource persons provided an in-depth methodological understanding and procedural hands-on training of several statistical tests using SPSS which includes One-Sample t-Test, z-Test, Independent Samples t-Test, Paired Samples t-Test, ANOVA, MANOVA, Factor Analysis, Correlation, Simple Linear Regression, Multiple Linear Regression, Cluster Analysis and Discriminant Analysis. Further, the resource person in the subsequent days provided an in-depth methodological knowledge input towards AMOS software along with assessment and reporting of measurement and structural model results using AMOS software. Thereon, participants were taught with an in-depth learning towards the application of moderation and mediation analysis using AMOS software. During the FDP, all the resource persons gave emphasis on style of reporting the statistical output and results in a research paper and thesis, respectively; also shared the essentials of writing a good research paper as per their experience. The participants throughout the FDP represented a healthy participation.
