GNA University, Faculty of Hospitality (FOH) organised a talk on ‘Millet as a Superfood’ and workshop on ‘Varieties of dishes made of millet’. This workshop was done by Chef Jaswinder Singh, Assistant Professor, University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management (UIHTM), Panjab University, Chandigarh.  Chef Jaswinder Singh was welcomed by Chef Dhiraj Pathak, HOD, FOH. The guest speaker stressed on incorporating slow food diet and using cooper, iron and bronze and brass utensils and sack aluminium and stainless steel utensils from kitchen for healthy families. He also made variety of dishes made of millet includes risotto; kebab etc. to name a few. He invited students to create awareness in society to demand for millet in our daily diet as this will also solve the problems of decreasing level of underground water and soil infertility in Punjab. The students were very receptive to the session and asked questions, which in turn were answered by the speaker. The session was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Deepak Kumar; Professor and Dean, Faculty of Hospitality (FOH). President and Pro Chancellor, GNA University, Sh. Gurdeep Singh Sihra said that such talks and workshops are necessary to create awareness among youth, who are the flag bearers and create change in society. Prof. V.K. Rattan (Vice-Chancellor), Prof. (Dr.) Hemant Sharma (Pro Vice Chancellor),  Dr. Raj Kumar Mahajan, (Registrar) and Prof. (Dr.) Monika Hanspal, (Dean Academics) and other dignitaries from GNA University also attended this event.
