GNA University Research Division organized a Seminar on “Scientific DST Project Schemes and Writing Skills” by two renowned Senior Scientists of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi.
The seminar was organized for all the faculty members of GNA University. The main objective behind organizing this seminar was to promote the research and project writing skills amongst the teachers by providing information on various project funding schemes and essentials for effective communication.
Dr. Neeraj Puri, Assistant Dean, Research coordinated the event. Dr. Rashmi Sharma, Scientist F, DST, New Delhi, delivered lecture on Opportunities in Science & Technology. In her lecture, Dr. Rashmi Sharma acquainted the faculty about the components of DST and various scholarship schemes provided by DST like Inspire Scheme, SRG (Start Up Research Grant), NPDF (National Post-Doctoral Fellowship), SYST (Scheme for young scientists & Technologist), SERB, International S& T cooperation, Women friendly initiatives of DST and many more. Also, for upgradation of women from rural areas, DST provides WTP (women technology park). All the faculty members present there listen to her keenly as this session definitely going to provide a platform for new projects with DST and research funds and grants.
After this well informed and appreciative session, Mr. Chander Mohan, Chair Professor, JNU and Ex-Scientist G, DST, New Delhi delivered lecture on “Essential Commandments of Effective Communication”. He was so energetic and full of passion during the whole session that the audience enjoyed and learnt a lot about communication skills. He emphasized on ‘4C’ rule that is clarity, correct, confidence and conciseness. Mr. Chander Mohan shared many of his life experience and connected very positively with audience.
After the end of this session, a Vote of Thanks was presented by Dr. VK Rattan, the Vice-Chancellor, GNA University. Dr. VK Rattan said, “The University is always ready to promote research projects and schemes for the teachers and the students.”
