Faculty of Hospitality, GNA University organised a One day Seminar-cum-workshop on “Awareness Session on the Benefits of Millet” with the theme of International Year of Millets (IYoM). All faculty members of GNA University and students of Hospitality actively participated in the Seminar, the workshop started with the welcome note by the honourable pro-vice chancellor Prof (Dr.) Hemant Sharma for both guest Mr. Umendra Dutt (Executive Director, Kheti Virasat Mission) and Ms Rekha Raheza (Food Choreographer & Culinary Medicine Consultant).
Dr. Monika Hanspal (Dean Academics) Introduced the theme of event and pointed out some benefits of Millet. Further awareness talk started by Mr. Umendra Dutt, during the session Mr. Dutt focused on changing behaviour of food habits and said food is the centre of civilization. Mr. Dutt coined Millet as the miracle grains and said in future wheat production will decrease because of global warming.
In the next talk Ms Rekha Raheja presented some easy and healthy recipes and key benefits according to particular organs of the body. Ms Raheja answered many questions by participants. The session ended with the vote of thanks conveyed by Dr. Deepak Kumar (Dean, FOH). The students and faculties showed a great interest during the session.
