GNA University, Faculty of Hospitality (FOH) organised a guest lecture on the topic ‘Itinerary Preparation- an Important Industrial Skill’. This talk was delivered by Dr. Aditi Choudhary, Assistant Professor and Chairperson Placements, Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, Noida. The speaker was welcomed and introduced to the audience by Dr. Kusum, Assistant Professor at FOH.
Dr. Aditi Choudhary expressed her gratitude for inviting her as speaker and shared her experience about how her career took shape through various curves right from graduating bachelor and master’s degree in tourism management from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra to working with worldwide renowned tour operators like Thomos Cook, SOTC and Travel Corporation of India (TCI) and then joining academics. She gave insights to students mastering the skills of itinerary preparation based upon magical ingredient of PRIDE (pride/pace, route, interest, details and energy).
The speaker evoked students to foster skills of research, creativity, expression and empathy to succeed in their career. The session was very interesting, informative and enjoined by one and all present. The students were very receptive to the session and asked questions, which in turn were answered by the speaker. The session was concluded by Dr. Sandilyan Ramunujam Pagaldiviti; Professor and Dean, Faculty of Hospitality (FOH), wherein he thanked Dr. Aditi Choudhary for sparing her valuable time and delivering such an enriching talk in a very expressive manner.
President and Pro Chancellor, GNA University, Sh. Gurdeep Singh Sihra said that such talks are crucial for students to equip them with required skills & better prepare them for placements. Prof. V.K. Rattan (Vice-Chancellor), Dr.Raj Kumar Mahajan, (Registrar) and Prof. (Dr.) Monika Hanspal, (Dean Academics) and other dignitaries from GNA University also attended this event.
