GNA University organised one day 4th International Conference on Hospitality & Tourism under the aegis of ICOHOST 2021 on the theme ‘‘Hospitality & Technology: Collaborating for Synchronized Growth’’ in the hybrid mode. Many delegates & research scholars from across the country participated in the 4th ICOHOST 2021. The objective behind this Conference was to connect the academia and the industry in the Hospitality and Tourism sector.
Dr. V.K, Rattan, the Vice-Chancellor, GNA University inaugurated the Conference with his Welcome address. On this occasion, Professor (Dr) S.C. Bagri, the President of HNB Garhwal University Alumni Association was the Chief Guest and the keynote address was delivered by Dr. Robert J. Thompson, CHA, TMP, Chair, Dept. of Hospitality and Tourism Management, The University of South Alabama, USA and Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, Professor, School of Hospitality & Tourism Management (SHTM) Jammu University.
On this occasion, the Guest of Honour was Professor Manjula Chowdhary, Dean Academic Affairs, Professor, Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra, Ex-Director, Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. In the 4th ICOHOST 2021, the eminent industry experts invited were Dr. Kaviraj Khialani, celebrity Master Chef. author- academician & advisor- national level for hospitality excellence, recipient of The Bharat Vidya Ratan Award. & the awarded the Best Chef Asia Award, food- health- lifestyle Consultant and Dr. Izzat Hussain, Celebrity Chef, Unani Chef, Consultant Chef, Entrepreneur & Culinary Educator.
On this occasion, industry experts had interaction with students and panel discussion was also held in the University auditorium. Two technical sessions were organized wherein in 40 papers were presented by the delegates and research scholars came from across the world.
On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Raj Kumar Mahajan, Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Monika Hanspal, Dean Academics and other dignitaries from GNA University also attended this event. The chairperson of this Conference was Mr. Dhiraj Pathak, HOD, Faculty of Hospitality. The organizing secretary was Dr. Kusum and the organizing committee members were Dr. Sumant Sharma, Mr. Shivraj, Mr. Ajay Chandel, Chef Sonu Katnoria, Mr. Sagar Bhatt, Chef Manjinder Singh and others.
