Department of Civil Engineering and GU Environmental Conservation Society at GNA University organized an Expert Talk onRainwater Harvesting and River Rejuvenation. Padma Shri Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal Jiwas the main Chief Guest of this event.
Shri Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal is an environmentalist working in conserving water and its appropriate treatment from so long. Seechewal Saab has been preparing around one lakh plants of 40 types at the village nursery to distribute free of cost. He interacted with all the students and the faculty members who were present there.
Students showed their full enthusiasm while negotiating with him. Seechewal Saab spoke about his journey, different experiences which he took in his life. He told the students what are the initiatives he can take on their level to conserve the rain water and waster water coming from different sources.
A question an answer round was conducted by the faculty members and the students in which pupils asked about the queries regarding conservation of water and solid waste management. He fully elaborated all his achievements, experiences and hurdles he has been through in his life which was extremely motivational for every student of GNA University. He even told the students about his upcoming projects.
Shri Sant Balbir Singh Seechewalduring his talk said, “I motivate all the students to plant more trees and keep your surroundings neat and clean and fit for survival.”
S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Pro-Chancellor, GNA University emphasized that the listening to the challenges and experiences of Sant ji is a matter of privilege for all of us and the young generation should pay close heed to his learnings.
