GNA University has been recognized to be an active Local Chapter for the 5th time consecutively since January 2018. NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) is a project of MHRD initiated by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati and Roorkee) along with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. It has been offering online certification for its courses, the highlight being the certification exam through which the student gets an opportunity to earn a certificate from IITs.

The main objective of NPTEL is to enhance the quality of engineering and science education by developing content using videos and web-based courses. To take this initiative forward and to encourage more students across colleges, SWAYAM-NPTEL chapter is set up in institutes. This initiative is beneficial as the students learn from IIT experts at their own pace. SWAYAM-NPTEL chapter is set up in GNA University under the headship of Dr. Vikrant Sharma (Professor and Dean, SEDA-E) who is the Single Point of Contact (SPOC).

Dr. Vikrant Sharma (Professor and Dean, SEDA-E) received a certificate of appreciation for his instrumental role as SPOC for SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapter from Dr. Satyaki Roy (Professor, IIT Kanpur) and Ms. Bharathi (Head of Operations and Planning- NPTEL, India).
