GNA University, Faculty of Hospitality (FOH) organised a talk on the topic ‘Career Prospects of Indian Hospitality Students in the USA’.

This talk was given by Dr. Robert J. Thompson, Chair and Assistant Professor, Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, The University of South Alabama, USA. The speaker was welcomed and introduced to the audience by Dr. Kusum, Assistant Professor at FOH. Dr. Robert J. Thompson, expressed gratitude for inviting him as speaker and gave insights on preparations to be done by the students, who aspire to work in USA.

The major focus of the talk was to improvise student’s social media profile especially LinkedIn, International Test of English Proficiency (ITEP), tips to approach employers and for acing in interviews. The students were very receptive to the session and asked questions, which in turn were answered by the speaker.

The session was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Sandilyan Ramunujam Pagaldiviti; Professor and Dean, Faculty of Hospitality (FOH). President and Pro Chancellor, GNA University, Sh. Gurdeep Singh Sihra said that such talks are vital for students to better prepare them to get placed internationally. Prof. V.K. Rattan (Vice-Chancellor), Dr.Raj Kumar Mahajan, (Registrar) and Prof. (Dr.) Monika Hanspal, (Dean Academics) and other dignitaries from GNA University also attended this event.
