GNA University is now an Academic Partner with IBM under the “IBM Academic Initiative“. Dr. Vikrant Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology said, “IBM Academic Initiative is a program which provides students and faculty at accredited GNA with access to IBM assets at no charge for the classroom (teaching and learning) and non-commercial research purposes. It provides with powerful technical and strategic resources from IBM.”
For students the early exposure to business and technology and how it works can form the basis for a life time of exploration and career opportunities. This IBM repository is comprised of resources teachers can use with students to excite them about the possibilities. There are also resources students can use themselves to get experience using the technology to create and experience tech in a whole new way.
Established in 2005, the IBM Academic Initiative allows and encourages faculty, students, and researchers at accredited academic institutions to leverage IBM tools, courses, and other resources in the classroom. Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, the Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata, and Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani are some of the academic partners of IBM under this initiative.
Now the students of GNA University can have hands-on experience on “industrial strength” tools that will help them in their chosen careers. In this initiative tools like IBM Cloud, Data Science, IBM Watson, IBM Security, Quantum, Blockchain, etc can be accessed or can take advantage of hands-on resources that will teach about data and analytics, Internet of Things, security and much more. Mr. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Pro-Chancellor, GNA University congratulated the whole Team for this big achievement and encouraged them to enhance more research activities and unleash the best to the students.”
