The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized one day Hands on Workshop on Web Development for the students of B.Tech.(Computer Science Engineering) 1st year. The Keynote speaker of the workshop was Ms. Shaina, Assistant Professor, FEDA/CSE. The objective of the workshop was to impress upon the students the need of developing a theoretically and practically sound curriculum with strong “Web Technology “concepts. In this workshop the students were introduced to topics in Web Technology. Students got an idea how to create web pages. Dr. Anurag Sharma, Professor and HOD, CSE inaugurated the workshop and motivated the students to make full use of their time and learn maximum from the workshop. He emphasized the need of industry liaisoning by the educational institutions so that students become aware about the requirements of the industry and prepare well for future assignments.
The key points that were enclosed in the workshop were:
· Front End Terminologies: HTML, CSS, JAVA SCRIPT
· jQuery concepts
· Project Hierarchy
· Back End Terminologies: Introduction about PHP, ASP.NET, XML and AJAX
All the students really appreciated the contents that were discussed, they realized that interactions like these can help them improve their learning. Students showed keen interest in attending more workshops like this in future.
Prof (Dr.) V.K Rattan, Vice Chancellor, GNA University said such workshops are important as students get chance to understand global scenarios. Dr. Vikrant Sharma, Dean (Engineering) said at GNA, we always focus on skill enhancement and we always organize such events for enhancing the skills of the students and faculty.
