GNA University marked the day with the solemn event of its Convocation Ceremony for 2022 Batches in the benign presence of the worthy Chief Guest Mr. IJMS Sidhu, President & Director Incharge, Vardhaman Textiles Ltd. The Chancellor GNA University S. Gursaran Singh also presided over the function. The Pro-Chancellor & President S. Gurdeep Singh Sirha, the Vice-President Simran Sirha, the Vice-Chancellor Dr V. K. Rattan, the Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr Hemant Sharma, worthy Registrar of the University, and the Dean Academics Dr Monika Hanspal graced the auspicious occasion of the Convocation 2022.

The programme was inaugurated with lightening up of the lamp of wisdom followed by Saraswati Vandana. Dr Disha Khanna, Dean Faculty of Liberal Arts managed the event in the capacity of Master of the Ceremony. She introduced the academic event by sharing about GNA Group and the laurels of GNA University. The Convocation procession started with the declaration edict of reverend Chief Guest Mr. IJMS Sidhu. He extended his greetings to GNA family and said, “GNA University is filled with enthusiasm and innovative spirit, for its commitment to provide quality education & to prepare the students to face challenges of the global society.”

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. VK Rattan prologued the convocation ceremony with his welcome address and the annual report of the University. He congratulated the young achievers who took the challenges with positive approach and had their toil been rewarded. He talked about the initiatives taken by the University. He even said that the University is established on the ‘highway of academic excellence’ and follow its vision with ‘clarity, confidence, compassion, and commitment’.

The Chief Guest Mr IJMS Sidhu, President & Director Incharge, Vardhaman Textiles Ltd expressed his gratitude by remembering the ‘preaching of Guru Nanak’, and also thanked GNA Groups and GNA University for having the opportunity to be present at the convocation ceremony. Igniting the young minds with his motivational words, he emphasised on the practical excellence. His suggestion ‘there is no magic but the quest and the curiosity in being innovative’ and ‘be ethical and secular’ showered like a benediction to the young learners and achievers. Stressing upon the philosophy of ‘making no walls and compartments’, he concluded with the hope that the today’s ‘youthquake’ should always march progressively and contribute passionately to the country. 

The convocation extended with the conferment of the Honoris Causa degree awarded to Mr. Bharat Panchal, Master Architect of Digital Risk Management & Cyber Security for India’s payment ecosystem. And then the honourable dignitaries awarded the degrees to achievers bagging gold (20), silver (14) and bronze (12) medals along with the other students from diverse disciplines like Engineering, Business School, Hospitality, Computational Science, Animation and Multimedia, and Physical Education & Sports.

S. Gursaran Singh, the Chancellor, GNA University congratulated all the degree recipients for the commencement of a new phase of their life. Briefly elucidating the present scenario of the country and problems of unemployment, he encouraged the students and stated that they are among the few privileged to pay tribute to their ‘Gurus’.

S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Pro-Chancellor, GNA University emphasized that the degree recipients should constantly ponder over the possibilities for the application of the latest updates happening in their sector to make a positive impact on the quality of life of people. He congratulated and encouraged them to spread their acquired knowledge across the globe.

The Vice-President of the University Ms. Simran Sihra graced the event with her sprightly presence and Dr. Monika Hanspal, Dean Academics, GNA University congratulated all the degree recipients for the commencement of a new phase of their life pay tribute to their ‘Gurus’ for all the care.”

At the conclusion of this illustrious ceremony, the Registrar of the University presented the Vote of Thanks. He thanked all the award winners and wished them success in their career and stressed on being honest and committed for what they aspire and keep a clear vision in life. In his thanksgiving, he lauded the role of GNA Group both in industry and education and hoped that this would provide opportunities to the local youth in having access to high quality education which will enable them to get employment across the globe.

The Convocation Ceremony 2022 was declared closed by the Vice-Chancellor Dr. VK Rattan, following which there was a stirring rendition of the National Anthem by all the present.
