Faculty of Hospitality @ GNA University organised a ‘Workshop on Tour Package Designing and Tourism Trends’. The resource person for this workshop wasMr. Kartike Singh Bora, Tour Head, Indian Panorama. The objective behind organizing this Workshop was to equip students with tour package designing and apprise them with new tourism trends in the global and Indian context.
The session was full of learning. Mr. Bora gave an overview about the inbound, domestic and outbound tourism markets. He apprised the students about how sightseeing of a destination should be planned for the tourists. He also discussed about the skills that students should have to explain a tourist spot to the tourists.
The students were given hands-on practice work of preparing the itinerary such as North –East India for the different category of tourists. The itinerary prepared by the students was discussed and the resource person gave inputs to make it more marketable. Mr. Bora also discussed the prevailing tourism trends in the Indian as well global context as trends helps to understand shift in tourist choices and market behaviour.
The speaker evoked students to foster skills of research, creativity, expression and empathy to succeed in their career. The workshop was very interesting, informative and students were very receptive to the session The token of gratitude was conferred by Dr. Deepak Kumar; Dean, Faculty of Hospitality (FOH), wherein he thanked Mr. Bora for sparing his valuable time and delivering such an enriching workshop in a very expressive manner.
The Pro-Chancellor, S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra said that such workshops are crucial for students to equip them with the required skills & better prepare them for placements. Dr.VK Rattan, the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Hemant Sharma, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Monika Hanspal, Dean Academics also congratulated team FOH for successfully organizing this Workshop.
