GNA University celebrated International Housekeeping Week from 9th to 14th September 2019. The opening Session of the Marked week started with Cleaning and Plantation drive at Phagwara Railway Station in which  students cleaned railway premises and generated awareness among general public for supporting the Swachh Bharat Mission of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Celebrated with great pomp and show, the five day long festivity consisted of a variety of fun filled activities and team building exercises like Poster Presentation, Rangoli making, Housekeeping quiz competition, The Dust Bunny game, Sponge and bucket relay race, balloons stack game for the students and housekeeping staff of university.

On the last day of the housekeeping week, prizes were distributed to the winning students as well as housekeeping staff of the University to appreciate their great work around the year. Dr. VK Rattan, the Vice-Chancellor graced the occasion and said, “Celebrating these types of events bring enthusiasm and team spirit among the staff and students which is very much essential for the Hospitality Industry.”

Dr. Narendra Awasthi, the Registrar, GNA University expressed “Cleanliness is next to godliness” and appreciated the efforts made by the students by keeping public areas of city neat and clean.

S. Gurdeep Sigh Sihra, the Pro-Chancellor, GNA University said, ‘I am really happy to see the fervour and team spirit among the students for such events happening in their faculty.” He even said, “I have high aspirations from my students and their role models. I am sure they will soon soar high in their discipline.”

Dr. Varinder Singh Rana, Dean, Faculty of Hospitality apprised the students about “Swachhta hi Seva hai” mission and appreciated the work done by housekeeping team of Faculty of Hospitality. During this long week celebrations Dr. Monika Hanspal, Dean Academic Affairs & Operations, Ms. Shweta, Deputy Registrar Establishment, Mr. Sameer Verma, Dean Academic Outreach and many other senior officials of the university were also present to grace the occasion and motivate the students.
