GNA University, School of Hospitality (SOH) organised a 5 day cookery Workshop/value-added course on “The Lost Recipes of the World” bycelebrityChef. Ashish Bhasin(Founder & Director CB Hospitality). The main objective of conducting this Workshop was to make students aware of the origin of the food and the traditional style of cooking. This workshop was based on an authentic and rural style of cooking like “Khad Cooking”, which is the oldest technique used in several countries, in which food is cooked underground for long hours on low heat.
Chef Bhasin has been associated with renowned hospitality brands like Oberoi and Leela and for more than 25 years and worked as an executive chef and Director -F&B Service and Culinary, shared a variety of lost recipes from around the world and taught students how to brush up their culinary skills. He shared the history behind the invention of recipes by great chefs and the evolution of food and cooking techniques. Apart from cooking, the Chef conducted a special session with students in which he introduced students to brand designing and business development.
Students enjoyed this value-added course and on the last day of the workshop, a buffet was organised by the students under the guidance of chef Bhasin, to showcase their learning skills and 200 Pax were being served the delicacies prepared and learnt during this course. The Pro-Chancellor S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, Dr. VK Rattan, the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Hemant Sharma, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Monika Hanspal, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Deepak Kumar, Dean SOH, Dhiraj Pathak, HOD SOH, enjoyed the dishes prepared by the students and motivated them to keep the spirit high to excel in their career.
