GNA University, Faculty of Hospitality (FOH) organised array of activities during two days celebrations of World Tourism Day on the theme ‘Rethinking Tourism’. The key objective behind organizing this event was to create awareness on the importance of tourism in impacting our social, cultural and economic values of the community. On this occasion, our chief guest was Mr. Shiv Dular Singh, (IAS Retired), Ex District Commissioner Amritsar, CEO of Punjab State Aviation Council, Advisor Punjab Heritage & Tourism Promotion Board. Mr. Singh addressed the students and shared his professional experiences during critical situations and emphasized on guest handling to create pleasant and memorable experiences. In cultural activities, students represented cultures of different states of India and they delivered a message of unity in diversity. There were solo song, group song, dance performances- solo and group both western and classical. There were academic competitions also like tourism quiz, poster making and tourism photography competition based on the theme ‘rethinking tourism’.

On this occasion, President and Pro Chancellor, GNA University, Sh. Gurdeep Singh Sihra said that such events play pivotal role in improving team skills and organizing skills of the students. Prof. V.K. Rattan (Vice-Chancellor), Prof. Hemant Sharma (Pro VC), Dr.Raj Kumar Mahajan, (Registrar) and Prof. (Dr.) Monika Hanspal, (Dean Academics), Dr. Deepak Kumar (Dean FOH) and other dignitaries from GNA University also attended this event.
