Faculty of Engineering Design and Automation at GNA University organized five days Workshop on Integration of Design and Manufacturing using Siemens Solid Edge with an objective to upgrade the knowledge of students by acquiring innovative ideas of Design and Manufacturing used in every sector.
The Workshop was inaugurated by Pro-Chancellor S. Gurdeep Singh, Vice-Chancellor Dr. V. K. Rattan, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Hemant Sharma and Dean FEDA-D Prof. CR Tripathy. Dr. Disha Khanna, Dean Faculty of Liberal Arts set the stage by introducing the theme and the clear cut objective behind the Workshop to the present participants.
The Workshop commenced with the floral felicitations extended to the Keynote speakers Mr. Sriraghavan Duraisamy Business Development Director, Asia Pacific Mainstream Engineering – SIEMENS Digital Industries Software and Mr. Rahul Burkule Technical Manager –Mainstream Engineering Siemens Digital Industries Software.
Mr. Sriraghavan Duraisamy (Business Development Director, Asia Pacific) on the behalf of Siemens emphasized that the technical knowledge that will be gained from this 5-days workshop is already being used almost in every industrial sector such as Aerospace, Automotive, Robotics and Automation, Medical, Product development etc. He also stated the synchromesh technology based Solid Edge is being used in defence and construction industries like DRDO, ISRO, L&T etc.
S. Gurdeep Sihra, CEO, GNA Gears Ltd. & the Pro-Chancellor, GNA University, said, “The practical exposure is mandatory for the young budding engineers and GNA University always takes initiative in rendering the best to its Engineers.”
Dr VK Rattan exclaimed, “I am delighted to witness the active participations during this Workshop. I congratulate the entire Team for their scrupulous efforts.”
Around 230 students registered for this 5 days Workshop from out of which 130 students appeared for the online global certification by Siemens online portal. Top 20 students were awarded with certificates by the dignitaries from the Sapcons Systems and Bell Laboratories.
The valedictory session was held on last day of the workshop. Dr. Monika Hanspal. Dean Academics extended the Vote of Thanks. Professor C. R. Tripathy, Dean FEDA-D, Dr. Vikrant Sharma, Dean FEDA-E and Dr. Sameer Verma, Dean GBS also graced the valedictory session with their presence. Mr. Saksham Hans from Sapcon System and Mr. Narmdeshwar Jha from Beetel offered certificates to all participants and awarded souvenirs to the best performing students during the workshop. The closing session was graced with some cultural activities performed by the students of Faculty of Engineering Design and Automation.
