GNA University participated in the 4thNational conference of Physiotherapy held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The students of Faculty of Applied Health Sciences (Physiotherapy Department) participated in the Conference. Around 30 students along with faculty coordinators- Dr. Anna & Dr. Pallavi, GNA University participated in this 2 day National Conference. The main objective behind the Conference was to promote the role of physiotherapists and rehabilitation in the treatment and management.
Dr. Sanjiv Jha, the President of Indian Association of Physiotherapy inaugurated the event in the benign presence of the MLA of Amritsar and Mayor as the Chief Guest. All the Activities were carried out under super vision of Dr. Ruchi Varshney, the Treasurer of the Conference. It was conducted by North Zone of Physiotherapy Association of Punjab, Punjab President IAP-Dr. Jatindera Sharma. Total 23 colleges of Physiotherapy participated in this conference from all over the India like Odisha, Nasik, Mumbai, Indore, Gujrat and many more.
Dr. Anna, the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences (Physiotherapy Department) grabbed the-Einstein of Physio Award for her significant contribution in the University. Ms. Parul-Master- Blaster award for the best student and all-rounder during the 2 day Conference.
Dr. Anna, the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences, GNA University said, “I am deeply thankful to the GNA Management for their extreme support and guidance.”
S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Pro -Chancellor said, “I am a[ppreciate the hard endeavours of the faculty in making the students stay abreast about the latest trends in the area of Physiotherapy.”
Overall, the 2 day Conference turned out to be fruitful. The students got practical knowledge of Sports Rehabilitation and new techniques. There was distribution of awards to those who have contributed significantly in the field of Physiotherapy. The students even participated in many cultural events like rangoli, solo and group dance competitions.
