GNA University successfully organized a State-Level Workshop on “Virtual Labs” in collaboration with IIT Delhi, under the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India Initiative. The event was hosted by the School of Engineering, Design & Automation (SEDA), GNA University.

The workshop aimed to promote innovative learning methodologies and provide faculty and students with hands-on experience in Virtual Labs, an initiative designed to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical experimentation using online laboratory simulations.

The event commenced with the registration of academicians and educators more than 32 Colleges/ Universities and refreshments, followed by a welcome speech. The formal inaugural session began with Lamp Lighting and Saraswati Vandana, creating an auspicious start to the program.

Dr. Hemant Sharma, Honourable Vice Chancellor, GNA University, delivered the Welcome Address, emphasizing the role of virtual laboratories in advancing digital and remote education. The Chief Guest and distinguished experts from IIT Delhi were honoured for their valuable contribution and collaboration.

 It was our great privilege to host esteemed experts from IIT Delhi — Dr. Tanmay Tarun Das, Project Manager; Mr. Chandan Kumar, Outreach In-Charge; and Mr. Chirag Dey, Senior Executive Trainer, Virtual Labs — who enriched the workshop with their expertise and practical insights.

The Technical Session began with featuring interactive demonstrations of the Virtual Labs platform, along with discussions on its pedagogical benefits and integration into engineering curricula. Post-lunch, the Inauguration of the Drone Technology Labs marked another milestone for GNA University’s commitment to fostering experiential learning. Certificates were distributed to all participants and coordinators for their active involvement. It was a great pride and honour for GNA University as IIT Delhi inaugurated the Drone Technology Lab during the event at our university. 

The program also included a vibrant cultural performance “Luddi”, celebrating Punjabi heritage, followed by a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Monika Hanspal, Dean Academics, GNA University, appreciating the efforts of the organizing team and participants.

The workshop concluded with lunch and an engaging networking session among faculty from various universities and colleges across Punjab.
