NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning), a project funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development is a joint initiative of the IITs and IISc. NPTEL has been offering self-study courses across engineering, humanities and science streams for more than a decade. Taking up NPTEL online certification courses will surely upgrade their knowledge base and help them keep up with today’s technological development. The main benefits of participating in an online course under NPTEL are that the student can review and assess his own progress week after week and also get his doubts clarified mutually or by the faculty in charge or by mentors, immediately, which enables him to understand the subject better.

GNA University SWAYAM- NPTEL has been declared as “Active Local Chapter” for Jan-Apr, 2022 for the 5^th time based on its participation and performance. GNA University became a NPTEL Local Chapter (LC) in 2018. From then the faculty and students have shown keen interest in learning through these MOOC courses and hence promoted to an ACTIVE Local Chapter. NPTEL is very happy to be associated with GNA University and with its students.

After seeing the performance of GNA University, SWAYAM-NPTEL honoured Dr Vikrant Sharma, Dean-Engineering at IIT Kanpur regional centre Delhi for his efforts in disseminating and supporting the learners of the SWAYAM NPTEL Local Chapter. More than 40 SPOCs gathered from different universities.
