Faculty of Engineering, Design and Automation of GNA University has established the Centre of Excellence (COE) in association with Fanuc India Pvt. Limited. Under this COE CNC Simulators and Roboguide system are installed. The main objective of the Fanuc COE is to provide the advanced training in the field of CNC manufacturing and robotic applications to the students of Engineering and the other allied branches. By undergoing the advanced trainings under this COE, the technical competence, employability and entrepreneurship of students will get enhanced and they will get readily absorbed in the industries.
The FANUC Center of Excellence was inaugurated by S. Gursaran Singh Chairman, GNA Group in the benign presence of S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, President GNA Group, Dr. V. K. Rattan Vice-Chancellor GNA University, Dr. Monika Hanspal, Dean Academics, Prof. C.R. Tripathy Dean Faculty of Engineering Design and Automation & Mr. Mayank Gupta Regional Manager Fanuc India Pvt. Ltd and other dignitaries.
Prof. C.R. Tripathy formally welcomed all the dignitaries, deans, heads and experts from Fanuc India Pvt. Ltd. Prof. Tripathy also showcased the facilities of CNC Simulator and Roboguide to the dignitaries and others. He mentioned about the significance of Centre of Excellence and its aim. He also extended his gratitude to the Management for always extending its relentless support for bringing the latest technologies in the University which leads to bridging the gap between industry and academia.
Looking at this perspective, GNA University has to work with different organization to prepare for industry automation. The effort behind COE is to make our engineering students industry-ready. This will help them in understanding CNC machines, Robo Guide and assembly of actual systems of industrial Automation which is linked with the CNC die and mould manufacturing machines.
S. Gursaran Singh, the Chairman GNA Group blessed all the students and staff and shared his past experience with the faculty members and students. He also emphasized, “Theses type of initiatives is the need of the hour for training the students to the international standards.”
S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the President GNA Gears congratulated Prof. C.R.Tripathy and whole faculty for establishing the FANUC COE packed with latest technologies. He also wished that the young budding engineers should learn these types of advanced technologies and achieve new heights in their career.
At last, Dr. VK Rattan, the Vice-Chancellor, GNA University emphasized, “This COE is one of its kind in North India which has the technologies required for Industry 4.0 and the students should make the maximum utilization of the CoE for their bright future.”
