In a visionary stride towards fostering a culture of Intellectual property and legal awareness, the GNA University Intellectual Property Management and Commercialization Cell (GUIPMC) in collaboration with the GNA University Institution’s Innovation Council (GU IIC) organized a highly impactful IPR Expert Session on 25th April 2025. The event, coinciding with World Intellectual Property Day, aimed at enlightening students, researchers, and faculty on the critical role of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in today’s knowledge-driven economy.

The session was graced by renowned Advocate Govindpreet Singh, a distinguished IPR expert and legal consultant, who captivated the audience with his profound insights on patents, trademarks, copyrights, and industrial designs. With a rich blend of real-life case studies and practical guidance, Mr. Singh emphasized how strategic IPR protection can serve as a catalyst for innovation, entrepreneurship, and national growth. Addressing a packed auditorium, Advocate Singh demystified the complexities surrounding patent filing, IP commercialization, and infringement issues. He also encouraged budding innovators to proactively protect their creations, highlighting various government initiatives that support young inventors and start-ups.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty from the School of Computational Sciences, sparking meaningful discussions and raising awareness related to the value of intellectual property in academic and industrial research. Dr.Neetu, Coordinator GU-IPMC,  expressed her gratitude to Advocate Govindpreet Singh for his invaluable contribution. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A round, followed by a felicitation ceremony, leaving the attendees motivated and better equipped to navigate the landscape of intellectual property.
